2008 The North American Hunting & Sporting Expo
Wisconsin Dells, WI – March 14 – 16, 2008

Hunters from all over the country enjoyed the North American Hunting & Sporting Expo, which offered attendees hunting and fishing seminars, trophy deer displays, ATV and sport vehicle displays, an indoor Hunting Simulation Organization 3-D bow shoot, a 60-table gun show, hundreds of exhibitors and sheds that made the record books, and yes a national tour stop of Dock Dogs™ dog jumping competition.

Team STIHL's Tom Dropik and his high flying speedster Rocky make their 2nd stop of the tour to participate in all 3 disciplines that include Big Air, Extreme Vertical and the new sport Speed Retrieve. Tom and Rocky are in pursuit to earn points that will rank them amongst the best in the world in hopes of earning a spot in the 2008 DockDogs World Championships in the Iron Dog division, a division that combines all 3 disciplines.

The event started on Friday Night with the High Flying Extreme Vertical competition. Team STIHL as always, put on quite a show for the hundreds of spectators that came to watch E.V. dogs from all over the country. When all said and done, Tom and Rocky finished a respectable 7th place with a HUGE 6’4” jump.

Saturday evening brought out the speedsters from all over the country to race against the clock to see who could get the bird the fastest. A 20’ run, a 20’ leap, and a 20’ swim tests all aspects of these dogs athletic abilities. Coming of a huge 2nd place finish in Chicago, Team STIHL wasn’t about to back down again this time. Rocky turned in a personal best of 6.37 seconds which earned him another 2nd place finish.

Team STIHL's Tom Dropik and Rocky earned huge points over the weekend which will definitely help their chances for Worlds come July.
